THE Prime Minister continues to recover steadily from covid19.

Speaking on condition of anonymity, senior government officials said on Friday that Dr Rowley was continuing to work despite being in isolation at the Prime Minister’s official residence in St Ann’s.

An official said: “He’s business as usual. There’s no way to slow him down. He’s running non-stop.”

The official added that Rowley was virtually chairing the weekly Cabinet meeting at St Ann’s Diplomatic Center and was continuing to work virtually for the time being.

A second official said Rowley is adhering to covid19 protocols and is expected to come out of isolation soon.

On August 1, government officials said Rowley had overcome the initial symptoms of covid19 he was experiencing and was recovering steadily. His symptoms were described as very mild.

In a July 29 statement, the Office of the Prime Minister (OPM) said he had tested positive for covid19.

Rowley is fully vaccinated and has received two boosters.

The OPM said Rowley will remain isolated in accordance with current covid19 protocols.

He canceled all of his engagements over the Emancipation Day long weekend.

These included an emancipation function on July 29 at the Diplomatic Center. The function was organized by other Cabinet Ministers.

On April 6, 2021, Rowley tested positive for covid19 in Tobago. He remained in isolation at the Prime Minister’s official residence in Blenheim from April 6 to 26, while recovering.
