Relative of martyred Intelligence Bureau staffer gets government job, free of charge

NEW DELHI (Reuters) – Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Thursday handed over a certificate of government employment in the education department to the brother of deceased Intelligence Bureau (IB) officer Ankit Sharma , Ankur Sharma, the chief minister’s office said.

Ankit Sharma was an IB officer killed during riots in North East Delhi in 2020. Kejriwal took to Twitter and said: ‘We can never make up for the loss of a loved one’s life , but I hope this government work and an aid of Rs 1 crore brings strength to the family.We will continue to support and support them in times of need.

Ankur Sharma has been appointed as a ‘junior assistant’ in the Ministry of Education of the Government of the National Capital Territory of Delhi (GNCTD). Also last year, Kejriwal presented a check for Rs 1 crore to the family.

After receiving the certificate, Ankur Sharma said, “My brother Ankit Sharma died during the riots in Delhi. Since then, the government has supported me and my family every step of the way. financial aid. Today I was offered a job in government. I will forever be indebted to Arvind Kejriwal, Deputy CM Manish Sisodia and everyone in government for taking care of our family.

A cabinet meeting was convened at the Delhi secretariat in March 2021 under the leadership of Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, during which Ankur Sharma, brother of the late Ankit Sharma, was offered to be given a government post as per his deserved.

This proposal was unanimously approved by the cabinet, after which it was sent to Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal. After getting LG’s approval, Kejriwal handed over the nomination letter to Ankur Sharma on Thursday.
