In the twentieth century, the world witness “Communist, Nazi, fascist and military dictators who together killed more than 100 million people”. Chinese Mao Zedong murdered 60 million; Joseph Stalin of the Soviet Union murdered 40 million people; and the German Adolf Hitler murdered 30 million.
Today the Taliban are murdering innocent civilians in Afghanistan. That horrible headline a month ago was no surprise: “As Taliban seize major cities, reports of murders and torture pour in. ”
When these terrorists were given control of the government, they began to door to door murder of Afghans who had aided the US military for the past 20 years. The Taliban have also set their sights on Christians and others Vulnerable Afghans.
A survey at the end of August, before our military withdrawal from Afghanistan, these statistics revealed: “More than 8 in 10 Americans (84%) think that American troops should stay in the country until all the Americans are evacuated, and a little more 7 in 10 (71%) think they should stay until all the Afghans who helped the United States are also evacuated.
Why would 16% of Americans want to abandon our fellow Americans, and why 29% of Americans would want to abandon our Afghan partners? Such insensitivity is mind-boggling.
On another matter of life and death, a national survey found that “a large majority of Americans reject abortion the day before a child is born (80%), third trimester abortion (79%), and ending medical care for a viable child after birth. birth (82%). Once again, the insensitivity of 20% of Americans is astounding.
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-California, has now promised to introduce a bill, HB 3755, in the House of Commons that would “remove current state restrictions on abortion and prevent states from imposing new restrictions on abortions.”
Marjorie Dannenfelser, President of the Susan B. Anthony List, noted in a press release: “Joe Biden and Nancy Pelosi want to shut down the American debate on abortion for good and instead impose a system of abortion on demand, until the moment of birth, paid by the taxpayer.”
When government officials sanction murder, they are doing Satan’s work. Jesus said, “The devil was a murderer from the beginning” (John 8:44).
Hubert Humphrey was a pro-life Democrat who served as Vice President of the United States in the 1960s.
Humphrey said in 1976: “The moral test of a government is how it treats those on the cusp of life, the children; those who are in the twilight of life, the old men; and those in the shadow of life, the sick, the needy and the handicapped.
How many of Humphrey’s fellow Democrats in power today are ready to take such a bold and loving stance for unborn babies? It often takes courage to do the right thing, especially when many of your peers have chosen to turn a blind eye to the most vulnerable among us.
A to study which came out a few years ago “confirmed that babies in the womb may experience pain as early as 12 weeks of age. Earlier this year, Senator Lindsey Graham and other colleagues reintroduced the law to protect the unborn child who is able to suffer in pain. Graham noted“There are only seven countries that allow mass abortions over the 20-week period, including China and North Korea. The United States should not be in this club.
Gianna Jessen testified against Planned Parenthood at a 2015 Congressional hearing, saying that “her birth mother was seven and a half months pregnant when she was advised to have a saline abortion – which” burns the baby inside and out, blinding and suffocating the child, who is then born dead, usually within 24 hours. ‘”
“Instead of dying”, Jessen noted on Capitol Hill, “After 6 hours of being burned in my mother’s womb, I gave birth alive in an abortion clinic in Los Angeles on April 6, 1977. Doctors didn’t expect me to lively. I did.”
The horror of abortion is horrible. About 62 million abortions have taken place from the landmark Roe vs. Wade decision in 1973.
Jesus said, “For out of the heart come evil thoughts, murder, adultery, sexual immorality, theft, false witness and slander ”(Matthew 15:19).
When a person becomes a Christian, they turn away from these sins, as well as any other type of sin. Christ alone can change a dark heart, but that requires repentance and faith in Christ.
Each of us needs the forgiveness that Jesus obtained for us by his death on the cross. He rose from the dead on the third day, so that we could be resurrected and live with Him forever in Heaven (1 Corinthians 15: 3-8; John 11: 25,26). In the meantime, followers of Christ are called to pray earnestly for the spiritual and physical needs of others. This includes those who remained in Afghanistan, as well as the helpless babies formed by God in their mother’s womb.
“, You woven me in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am terribly and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know it very well ”(Psalm 139: 13,14).
The government officials who sanction the murder need a new heart. If they turn away from their mortal agenda, they too can be delivered from sin and saved by the grace of God. This is what the apostle Paul meant when he said, “I preached that they should repent and turn to God and prove their repentance by their acts(Acts 26:20).
Talking is not expensive. The actions speak volumes. Jesus says it best: “You will know them by their fruit” (Matthew 7:16).
